Would anyone please give me a clue to Problem 3.15 (c)?

Consider any solution

and write it as $w=w_{lin}+\delta$ . Show that $w_{lin}$ and $\delta$ are orthogonal. To do this use the fact that both

and $w_{lin}$ satisfy the Normal Equations, and $w_{lin}$ has a specific form.
