Question Exercise 1.4 - Are we supposed to use a computer to calculate?

Hi,

Exercise 1.4 - Are we supposed to use a computer to generate the data and then program a perceptron? What programming language? What do students at Cal Tech use? and on EdX?

Does the book ever explicitly state if things are to be done by hand or by computer?

++Regards
Grant
