Default Question 6 Target functions to consider = 8

I'm still confused why there are only 8 target functions we need to consider since there are only 3 points within X but outside of D? Why are the possible target functions we need to consider 8 then?

Is it because the remaining 3 input vectors have 8 possible ways the corresponding y(n) values could be assigned and thus each different one that is a target function?
