Question re: Notation for PLA Question

Hi,

Playing a bit of catchup -- just finished watching both lectures and starting the homework.

I must have missed something in the lectures or my math is more rusty than I realized, but what does the notation X = [-1, 1] x  [-1, 1] mean??

It is the the square on the 2-dimensinal plane from to on both coordinates, i.e., all points such that and .
