Hi,

Would anyone please give me a clue to Problem 3.15 (c)?

Consider any solution w and write it as w=w_{lin}+\delta. Show that w_{lin} and \delta are orthogonal. To do this use the fact that both w and w_{lin} satisfy the Normal Equations, and w_{lin} has a specific form.
