applying machine learning?
Are there any ways for determining when this is happening when applying machine learning to a dataset, and quantifying the reliability of the predictions, or is this a matter of judgment left to the practitioner?:(

Re: applying machine learning?
In some methods such as linear regression, there is a confidence interval that you can get with each prediction that can help quantify the (objective) reliability. Hope this helps.
