*ANSWER* HW2, Q4 Signficance of answer

4. "At what value of \lambda will the performance of h be independent of \mu?"

I got the anser to HW2,Q4 through simple algebraic manipulation. However, is there any significance in the value of \lambda being 0.5 and why the performance of h does not depend on \mu in this case ?

At \lambda=0.5, the value of y is pure noise that doesn't say anything about the value of the target, hence the data will not convey any information that we can learn from.
