Q1: clarification on the meaning of polynomial transform of order Q
 
Just making sure:
A non linear transform that is polynomial of order Q looks like this:
Q=1 (1, x_1, x_2)
Q=2 (1, x_1, x_2, x_1x_2, x^2_1, x^2_2)
Q=3 (1, x_1, x_2, x_1x_2, x^2_1, x^2_2, x^2_1x_2, x_1x_2^2, x_1^3, x_2^3)

Maybe this is the same question?

Is the answer to question 1 supposed to be exact or approximate?

Correct.

Remember that the problem states that the constant (zeroth) coordinate in not counted in the dimensionality.

I really want to be careful. Because I've seen in the past exercises, that a small bug in the program or a little misinterpretation takes you in a different direction. :)

Yes, I know. I deliberately left it in, for completion reasons, and maybe to see if I get a comment like this :)
I am afraid I might have missed something and have the wrong answer. Although I am not trying to train on the comments :D
